House Cleaning

Quite a large number of the Contract Cleaning/Commercial Cleaning Services companies are now offering a service to domestic customers. The type of service they offer is one off spring cleans and or regular weekly cleans.

The domestic customer who is able to afford ‘a cleaner’ often has their mindset about cleaners routed firmly in the past. They have possibly in the past employed a woman from down the road and supplied her with all the equipment and cleaning products. She probably came in and did the ironing, washing up, and general tidying as well as the cleaning. There are specialised companies who can still supply this type of cleaner in some areas of the country. However the number of people who are willing to do that type of work are diminishing rapidly, and it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to find ‘a cleaner’. So ever larger numbers are turning to the contract cleaning companies to see if they can offer a service to them.

What the householder gets into their home at this point are professional cleaners. People who make their living out of cleaning. People who have probably cleaned commercial premises and are quite used to handling the commercial type equipment and cleaning products. Being professional cleaners they work faster and use better equipment and products than the householder has.

The householder knows all about cleaning because they do it! They know exactly how long it takes them to clean their property, which is why they hire in cleaners! Quite a few people also know how to fix things on their cars for example and do so quite successfully. However do they do it as quickly and efficiently as the mechanic down the garage? The mechanic, regardless of what we actually think of them has all the correct tools and environment for carrying out the job, therefore they can do it much faster with less pain! The same applies to plumbers, electricians, plasterers etc. etc.

All of these people have skills and knowledge built up over the years which they employ successfully in their work. Exactly the same applies to cleaners. They often have years of experience and developed skills and a wide knowledge base which enables them to carry out their job quickly and efficiently. Add to this the specialised equipment and products they use and you have the identical scenario to the car mechanic.

So for example it may take the householder 4 hours to clean their house properly. They bring in the professional cleaners and are surprised when two of them have finished within one hour. What does the person think? They obviously have not done a good job because they were too quick. What they fail to realise is this notion of professional cleaners being able to do the job much faster than the average person. The average person cleans because they have to. Professional cleaners do it because they have the knowledge and expertise and because they can!
